Prayer For My Daughter Tina Fey

  • by

Parents often say that there is nothing greater than a parent’s love for their child. And on Thursday night, millions of parents who tuned in to watch Tina Fey’s new special on Netflix, “Tina Fey: A Saint and Her Secrets,” could attest to that statement. In the hour-long special, which was filmed in front of an intimate audience at New York City’s Lincoln Center, Fey discussed her life as a mother and joked about family dynamics with queen of comedy Amy Poehler and husband/co-writer John Slattery. But one topic that Fey didn’t touch on was her daughter Tina Fey, who has largely stayed out of the public eye since she went off to college at the University of Minnesota in 2006.

Memories of Tina Fey

When Tina Fey was a little girl, she wanted to be two things: an actress and a comedian. She started doing stand-up as a way to hone her skills and soon found herself appearing on Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show With Jon Stewart.”

Her first major TV role came in 1997, when she was cast in “Murphy Brown” as Corky Sherwood. Fey helped the show win four Emmy Awards, and her performance as the title character made her a household name.

After “Murphy Brown” finished airing, Fey took on several roles in Hollywood films. Her first big break came with 2003’s ” Mean Girls ,” which starred Lindsay Lohan and Anna Kendrick. The film was a massive hit, making over $200 million at the box office.

Fey went on to write, produce and star in the 2006 comedy film ” 30 Rock .” Her work on the show won her three Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.

In 2013, Fey returned to television with the critically acclaimed series “30 Rock.” The show ended after seven seasons in 2016.
