Prayer For Marriage In Bible
I pray that as we live out our lives together under your divine guidance may we continue to grow in graceful beauty, reflecting more and more of Christ’s character – knowing full well that without Him we can do nothing.
“Heavenly Father, I come before you today knowing how much you cherish marriage. You describe it as a sacred institution, not to be taken lightly. Your word tells me that I am to love my husband as you love the church and gave yourself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word.”
Marriage is a sacred relationship between two people who have promised themselves to one another for life. It is a reflection of God’s love for us—a mirror into which we can see ourselves as we are and learn more about our Lord. Because of this importance, marriages should not be entered into lightly or without proper preparation. A solid foundation should be laid before any commitment is made so that both parties are willing to support one another in times of trial and joy throughout their lives together on earth (1 Corinthians 7:2-3).
Thank you Jesus that your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path and this day I pray that in everything we do and say, our marriages would be a reflection of your love and goodness.
When you pray, you are communicating with God. The Bible is the word of God and when you read it, it becomes a lamp to your feet and a light to your path.
That’s why it’s so important for us to fill ourselves up with the word of God each day.
Your marriage should also be one that reflects God’s love and goodness—this means both partners will have to make sacrifices for each other so that they can build a strong foundation for their marriage.
Help us Lord to build our marriages on rock-solid foundations, so that as life’s storms beat against us we will stand firm in the knowledge that our marriage was built upon the only sure foundation – Christ Jesus.
Marriage is a sacred institution and should be treated as such. Marriage reflects the love, goodness and self-sacrifice of God for His people. We know that Jesus loved us so much that He gave Himself for us, making Him our perfect example of love.
Jesus also declared in John 13:34 “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; even as I have loved you, that you also love one another.” This new commandment includes loving your spouse! Even if we have had a rough road with our spouse, this commandment still applies to us because Christ sacrificed His life on the cross for all who believe in Him.
We can see how God’s own Son laid down His life so we could live eternally with Him forevermore—and now He wants us to lay down our lives for each other (1 John 3:16).
Thank you Father for being with both of us throughout each day – wherever we go you go with us and thank you for promising that if we ask anything in Jesus name it will be done for us.
Father, thank you for being with both of us throughout each day – wherever we go you go with us and thank you for promising that if we ask anything in Jesus name it will be done for us.
Father, I ask that you would keep [NAME OF PERSON] safe today, please fill his/her heart with peace and comfort. I pray that the love between them will continue to grow stronger every day and they will never forget what they mean to each other or how much they need one another.
Compel each one of us to walk with Christ through every storm of life and protect our minds from the attacks of the Evil One – knowing that greater is He who is within us than he who is in this world.
I encourage you, as you read this passage and the others in my books, to take it as a personal letter from me to you. I want to encourage your heart and strengthen your faith every step of the way.

We pray for guidance and protection for our marriage, for strength to choose wisely in the days ahead, for wisdom from heaven to make wise decisions every day, for peace and joy that pass all understanding so that where you are absent there shall be a friendlier place still. We ask this through Christ our Lord who lives and reigns with you forever. Amen!
