Prayer For A Family Who Lost A Loved One

Prayer For A Family Who Lost A Loved One

Dear God, we’re hurting right now. We pray that any pain and sadness our family members who were left behind will soon go away. Death is a part of life, but your love and power are greater than all the forces that seek to destroy our peace and joy. Thank you for sending your Son Jesus to die on the cross so we can be reunited with those who have passed away in Christ. Amen

Dear God, we’re hurting right now.

Dear God,

We are hurting right now. We are sad, angry, confused and in pain. We feel like we have no direction in this world without your daughter/son/brother/sister/mother/father. They were a part of our everyday lives and now that they’re gone, it seems like everything is falling apart around us. We are worried about how we will be able to move forward without them by our sides. And we’re scared because we don’t know what the future holds for us or for our family members who loved them so much too.

But even through all of these emotions…we know that you can heal us if you want to heal us! You can make us whole again if you choose to do so! You have all power over life itself!

Death is a part of life.

Death is a part of life. It is a transition, not an end. The Bible teaches us that we will be reunited with those who have gone before us.

We are comforted knowing that our loved ones are in heaven with God and have a new life ahead of them. We know this because Jesus Christ died for us, so that we can share eternal life with Him (John 3:16).

Your love and power are greater than all the forces that seek to destroy our peace and joy.

Dear God,

Thank you for being the Author of life and all good gifts. I know that our family has experienced your love and mercy in so many ways. You have provided us with everything we need to live abundantly.

  • Please help us to see beyond our pain and disappointment to know that You are there for us and will always be there for us no matter what happens in this world or even in our lives.*
  • Your love is greater than all the forces that seek to destroy it.* Your power is stronger than any person’s weakness.* Your goodness is stronger than any evil intent.* Thank you for being on our side at all times!

We pray that any pain and sadness our family members who were left behind will soon go away.

  • We pray for the family who lost a loved one. We pray that any pain and sadness they may be feeling right now will soon go away.
  • We pray for the community in which this tragedy occurred. May your hearts be comforted through your faith in God, that you can see beyond this momentary suffering to everlasting joy.
  • We pray for the church, so that all its members may come together as one body of Christ to support each other during times like these.

Thank you for sending your Son, Jesus to die on the cross, so we can be reunited with those who have passed away in Christ.

Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. He is our peace. Through Him we have life and hope (John 14:6). He has given us an eternal home in heaven with His Father if we accept Him as our Lord and Savior (John 6:37).

Through Jesus’ death on the cross, all sins are forgiven (Colossians 1:14). By accepting Christ as their Savior, those who have died in Christ will be raised up at His second coming (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Titus 2:13; Revelation 20:11-15).

God bless you, and may He bring peace to your family.
