Thanksgiving Prayer For Parents
I am thankful for my parents. I know it seems like a simple statement, but sometimes we do not truly understand how much our parents have done for us until we are adults ourselves. There is nothing more important than family. As you read this Thanksgiving Prayer for Parents, think about the sacrifices your parents have made in order to protect and provide for you throughout your life.
- For the gift of mother and father, oh Lord our God, be in my heart as I thank You for giving me one of the most wonderful angels in this world.
- I pray that Your grace will be upon them, that You lead them through life’s journey with strength and love.
- Let their hearts be filled with Your Spirit so that they may guide me to Heaven when I go back home after this earthly life ends.
You have given me a home where I can always return.
“You have given me a home where I can always return. In your presence, I feel safe and secure. You are my refuge from the storms of life and my shelter from the wind.”
“Your arms are more comfortable than any bed in which I’ve slept. Your love is sweeter than any song that has ever been sung.”
“From you, dear Lord, I learned that hard work is not only beneficial but also rewarding.”
You have given me a loving family who is always there for me.
Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on all the blessings in your life. You have given me a loving family who is always there for me, even when others aren’t. I am thankful for my parents and siblings, grandparents and great-grandparents, nieces and nephews, second cousins, third cousins…well you get my drift! We are all connected through bloodlines that run deep down into history. It’s not just our nuclear family that makes us who we are; it’s also our extended one: our community and hometowns; the people from whom we draw inspiration; those who offer guidance or wisdom when needed most; those who share similar interests with us, but also challenge us with their opposing viewpoints so as not to become complacent in our thinking processes (and if there isn’t anyone around like this then maybe create some fictional characters).
My mom didn’t tell me until later in life but she had wanted children since her teens–and she wasn’t exactly picky about how many she got either! She told me this because she felt guilty about being unable to provide much financially for them at first because of coming from such humble beginnings herself (her first job out of high school was working at Burger King). It was hard work bringing up three kids on one income while dealing with depression issues due to postpartum depression after having her first child–or perhaps even prior thereto? Who knows? What matters most is that we found each other eventually (she found God)
You have given me inheritance and legacy that I can dedicate to my children someday.
- You have given me inheritance and legacy that I can dedicate to my children someday.
- As you give me a land, you also gave me a future.
- Today, I thank you for all the gifts and talents that have been inherited from you.
You have given me a life full of blessings and grace.
Thank God for the blessings of life.
You have given me a life full of blessings and grace, and I am grateful for each one. Through your grace we are able to overcome our own weaknesses, strive towards your glory, and grow into better people. Thank you for blessing me with the gift of life!
And for everything Lord our God, be with me as I pray this Thanksgiving Prayer for Parents.

I thank You for allowing them to guide me through their wisdom and understanding, so that I could learn valuable lessons at a young age.
