Prayer to Mary for being the Mother of God
O Blessed Mary, Mother of God, behold your children gathered at the table of your Son. We are poor and needy and in need of grace and mercy. Look upon us with compassion and tender love. Hear our prayers and intercede to Jesus for us; implore him to give us his most precious blood to make us truly rich in faith, hope and charity. By this precious blood may we be purified from all sin so that we may one day come into his everlasting kingdom as heirs of eternal life. In the name of Jesus, our Lord, who died for us on the cross: Amen.”
O Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, you gave the world its true light when you brought forth Jesus, the Son of the Eternal Father.
O Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, you gave the world its true light when you brought forth Jesus, the Son of the Eternal Father.
You are truly blessed among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb. Your child was conceived by the power of God’s Holy Spirit and born into this world to free us from sin and death through his life and ministry on earth. He would teach us how to love one another as he loves each one of us personally. In these moments while we pray with you today we ask for strength in our own lives so that we can become instruments through which God’s love can flow into others’ lives too!
As at Cana of Galilee, you interceded with your Son so that the wedding feast might have abundant wine.
You know, I remember the first time I learned about Mary as a mother. I was sitting in my seventh-grade catechism class and we were learning all about her Son, Jesus Christ. My teacher gave us each an image of Mary holding baby Jesus on her lap, which was printed on thick glossy paper and detailed with gold leaf trim along the edges. It was beautiful!
But what really caught my eye were two things: 1) how much she looked like me and 2) how much she looked like my mom (who also had a toddler at home). That’s when it hit me that Mary was not just an ordinary woman—she was an extraordinary one! But oh boy, did that ever make me wonder why God chose her instead of someone else to give birth to His only Son?
And then it occurred to me that maybe He did choose her for a reason…
Now you come to us as the Morning Star, shining with the brightness of eternal light and promising the radiance of glory to all who believe in your Son.
Now you come to us as the Morning Star, shining with the brightness of eternal light and promising the radiance of glory to all who believe in your Son.
Through your intercession, we beg that we may always persevere in faith until our death. Help us by your prayers, Mary most holy and immaculate.
You are indeed our Mother.
You are indeed our Mother. We believe that you are the Mother of God and the Mother of Christ. You have been given the title ‘Mother of the Church’ by God himself.
With filial confidence and trust we now call upon you.
O most holy and immaculate Virgin Mary! Mother of divine grace, who are always ready to show compassion toward us miserable sinners and to help us obtain graces from your dear Son and our Lord Jesus Christ, we now call upon you with filial confidence and trust.
Of course, all Christians know that Mary is the Mother of God. But what does this mean? Is it just some antiquated idea from another time? No! It is a very real thing indeed: The first appearance at Lourdes was a powerful sign of how much Jesus loves His mother. The messages given by Our Lady at Fatima were also signs of her Son’s love for her — and proof that she is still very much needed in this world today.
Call on me in your needs so that I may be able to assist you through my intercession with My Son Jesus Christ Your Savior
We seek your powerful protection; show us the mercy that you showed at Cana; obtain for us from your Son and our Lord abundant graces and blessings.
O Blessed Mother of God,
You are the Mediatrix of All Grace, you are the Co-Redemptrix and Advocate of all Christians. You have been given to us by your Son as an example for us to follow in our faith. When we see you, we see Jesus; when we hear about your life, it is like hearing about his life. Help me to be like you! Help me imitate you in everything that I do today so that I may become worthy of being called one day one of your children too!
