Introduction
In the face of an ongoing humanitarian crisis in Yemen, we are called to prayer. Our Lord has called us to care for His people, and we are called to pray for them. The situation in Yemen is dire. A Saudi-led coalition has been bombing the country for over a year, and as a result, there have been widespread civilian casualties, including many children. There is also a severe lack of food and medical supplies. We are called to ask God’s help in this time of great need. We pray that He will provide food and medical supplies, bring peace and stability to the region, and protect the innocent people of Yemen.
Background on the Yemen Crisis
A humanitarian crisis is unfolding in Yemen, with over 22 million people in need of assistance. The conflict escalated in March of 2015 after Houthi rebels seized control of the capital, Sanaa, and later advanced southward. Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain intervened militarily in support of the government of President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi.
The conflict has taken a heavy toll on civilians. According to the UNICEF, over 10,000 children have been killed and more than 35,000 injured since the start of the conflict. More than 2 million children are now displaced within Yemen, and nearly 7 million are in need of humanitarian assistance.
In an effort to stem the tide of the crisis, international organizations are distributing food and water vouchers to areas hit hardest by the fighting. In addition, they are providing health care and sanitation services to those affected by the conflict.

Background of the Yemen War
The Yemen War is an ongoing conflict in Yemen between the government of Yemen and rebel groups. The war began in early 2015 and has so far killed over 10,000 people, with more than 50% of casualties being civilians. The main rebel groups are the Houthis, who are backed by Iran, and the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
Yemen is one of the most impoverished countries in the world, with an estimated 50% of the population living in poverty. The war has created a humanitarian crisis, with over two million people requiring food assistance. The UN has warned that a “humanitarian disaster” is unfolding in Yemen.
There have been calls for a ceasefire from both sides of the conflict, but to date there has been no resolution. In October 2017, the UN Security Council passed a resolution calling for an end to hostilities and for all parties to cooperate with mediation efforts led by Sweden. However, there has been little progress made towards implementation of the resolution.

Why prayer is important in times of crisis
Prayer is an essential tool for coping with crisis. A study published in the journal “Personality and Social Psychology Review” found that prayer can have a moderating effect on stress in people, helping them to maintain control and resolve problems.
One of the main benefits of prayer during times of crisis is that it allows individuals to connect with a greater source of support. Prayer can also provide hope and encouragement, which can help individuals deal with difficult situations in a more positive way.
When people pray, they often feel a sense of calm and security. This is because prayer can help us focus on our goals, connect with others who are struggling, and find strength in divine guidance.
If you’re feeling stressed about the current situation in Yemen, please consider praying for the victims and their families. The Lord will comfort and guide you as you offer your support.
The effects of prayer on the spiritual and physical health of people
Prayer is one of the most effective ways to connect with God and receive divine guidance. Prayer has been shown to have positive effects on both the spiritual and physical health of people. Here are five examples.
1. Prayer can reduce stress and anxiety. Studies have shown that people who pray regularly experience lower levels of stress and anxiety than those who do not pray. Researchers believe that this is because prayer helps people connect with their innermost selves and find peace and solace in their thoughts.
2. Prayer can improve mental health. Studies have also found that people who pray have better mental health than those who do not, regardless of denomination or belief system. Theories behind this indicate that prayer can help people connect with Deity, which can help them develop a stronger sense of self-esteem and self-confidence.
3. Prayer can prevent diseases. Numerous studies have found that people who pray tend to have lower rates of various diseases, including heart disease, stroke, cancer, asthma, and diabetes.
