Prayer For Those That Are Against You

Lord God, I pray that You would give to me a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You, the eyes of my understanding being enlightened that I may know what is the hope of Your calling, what are the riches of the glory of Your inheritance in us. Lord grant me Your Spirit to be like power and like a flame of fire. That my inner man might be strengthened with power through Your Spirit in my inner man. For it is in Christ that I am strengthened with all power according to your glorious might for all endurance and patience with joy. That I may steadfastly follow Jesus, regardless of what the world throws at me

Father I ask that You would give to me a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You,

In this prayer, the Apostle Paul is asking God to give him a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You. He continues, “the eyes of my understanding being enlightened that I may know what is the hope of Your calling, what are the riches of the glory of Your inheritance in us.”

In other words, he wants to know who God has called him to be and what it means for his life, as well as discover how God’s grace can change him into someone who reminds others about Jesus Christ and His love.

For example, Paul prays in 1 Corinthians 2:7 that the eyes of his understanding would be enlightened that he may know what is the hope of God’s calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in us. In other words, he wants to understand what it is about Christ that makes Him so valuable and worthy of our worship.

He also prayed for wisdom on numerous occasions (1 Corinthians 1:5; 2 Cor 9:8). This kind of prayer involves asking God to give us correct thinking and insight into matters (1 Cor 10:24-25), so that we can make good decisions in life.

Lord grant me Your Spirit to be like power and like a flame of fire.

Power is the ability to do something and fire has the ability to burn something down. You need both power and fire when you are trying to accomplish things in life, so it makes sense that God would want you to have both as well.

That my inner man might be strengthened with power through Your Spirit in my inner man.

First, pray and ask the Holy Spirit to come into your life. This is a very important step because it will help you to have victory over the enemy’s plans. The Bible says in Romans 8:26, “Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses.”

Second, ask the Holy Spirit to help you in your time of need. You can use this prayer anytime but especially when facing temptation or when an attack from Satan comes upon you (1 Peter 5:8).

Finally, pray for God’s protection against temptation or attacks from Satan and his demons (Ephesians 6:10-18).

For it is in Christ that I am strengthened with all power according to your glorious might for all endurance and patience with joy.

If you are facing opposition, know that the battle is not yours. God’s power is made perfect in our weakness, so pray for the strength of Christ to be given to those who stand against you. His strength allows us to resist evil and overcome obstacles. His glory shines through us as we go through difficult situations on earth (2 Corinthians 4:7). And his love shines through those who have been harmed by others or by themselves (1 John 4:16-19).

That I may steadfastly follow Jesus, regardless of what the world throws at me.

• Pray that God will give you the strength to endure, regardless of what the world throws at you.
• Pray that God will give you wisdom to understand why this is happening.
• Pray for God’s guidance in how to deal with it, how best to respond, and whether or not there are any steps we can take as individuals or as a church body.
• Finally, pray that God would increase your love of those who have hurt or forsaken us so that we might find forgiveness in our hearts for them and be able to forgive them as Jesus forgave us.

Prayer For Those That Are Against You

• Pray that those who are against you will be turned to the Lord.
• Pray that they would be saved.
• Pray that they would be delivered from evil.
• Pray for them to have peace, joy and healing in their lives.

Conclusion

I pray that you would be strengthened by the power of God. That your inner man might be strengthened with power through the Spirit in your inner man. For it is in Christ that I am strengthened with all power according to your glorious might for all endurance and patience with joy. And last but not least, I hope that you will steadfastly follow Jesus regardless of what the world throws at me
