Incarceration and Stigma: Prayers of Families Affected by Incarceration © 2018 by The Religious Institute The religious institute gathered more than 230 prayers from families affected by incarceration during Holy Week as part of their “Prayers of Families Affected by Incarceration” project. When we are praying, it is important to be mindful of our surroundings and how our words might be received. If we are seeking guidance from a Higher Power, it is beneficial to open ourselves up to receive their wisdom. However, if we are offering prayers for someone else, it is important that we do not forget their feelings or needs in the process.
No matter what type of prayer we are offering, it is always beneficial to remember that there is a Power greater than ourselves who can help us in our time of need. When we are able to connect with this force within ourselves, we can feel confident in achieving anything that we set our mind to.
