Age doesn’t always mean maturity. Sometimes, it takes maturity to accept change. For some people, this may manifest in the form of a new job, Significant other moving away, or simply growing older. For me, my birthday is a perfect example of this.
It’s not like I’m not used to change. After all, I’ve been through a lot in my life already- both good and bad. But even so, it was still tough when my Significant other moved away for college. We were together for 3 years before he left and it felt like a chunk of my life was taken away with him. It was also hard when he started his own business and we barely saw each other because of work and travel commitments.
Thankfully, things have been picking up since he moved back home a few months ago. He’s finally starting to settle into his own place and things are really starting to come together for him now that he has his own support system back in place (me included!). But even though things are going well now, I know that they won’t stay that way forever.
