Prayer For Emotional Healing

Prayer For Emotional Healing

We all have stressful days, and sometimes it’s difficult to find the strength to keep going. These prayers can help you find peace in your heart and mind when you’re struggling with stress or anxiety.

As you go through your day, I encourage you to stop for a moment and repeat these words.

As you go through your day, I encourage you to stop for a moment and repeat these words:

  • Inhale peace.
  • Exhale worry.
  • Inhale courage.
  • Exhale fear.
  • Inhale strength and confidence in who God has made you to be—the way he created you is perfect! You are beautiful exactly where you are at this very moment in time—you have not failed or disappointed anyone, nor have they failed or disappointed you; both parties have simply grown and learned from their experiences with one another…and that is beautiful! As the Lord says in Isaiah 43:19-20 (ESV), “Behold, I will do something new, now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”

Breathe in healing.

Healing is a journey, not a destination. It’s okay to feel pain, but it’s not okay to stay in pain. Healing is a choice that you make every day.

Breathe out stress.

Breathe out stress.

Let go of the stress that has been weighing you down.

Release the stress that has been building up inside of you and allow yourself to relax.

Breathe in peace.

  • Breathe in peace.

The power of breathing is one of the most important keys to relieving stress and anxiety. When we are anxious, our bodies are often flooded with adrenaline, making it hard to relax or sleep well. When we breathe deeply, we start to release that excess energy and calm down. It’s also a great way to slow down your thoughts so they aren’t as overwhelming or stressful as they may feel at first glance. Try taking a few deep breaths before you start a prayer session if things seem too hectic in your mind!

Breathe out pain.

Breathing out pain. Breathing out stress. Breathing out anxiety. Breathing out heaviness, tension and pressure of the mind and heart are all possible with God’s help. He wants to take you from being a slave to your emotions to being a master over them. He doesn’t want you to live in bondage anymore! He wants you to be free from emotional wounds caused by past hurts so that when others hurt you again, it won’t affect you as much since now there’s a shield around your heart that protects it from the arrows shot at it by those who seek only their own gain at the expense of others’ good or happiness

The Apostle Paul wrote about this very thing when he said: “For our light affliction (or trouble) which is but for a moment works more abundantly than if we had no trial at all” (2 Corinthians 4:17).

Inhale rest.

As you rest, take stock of how you feel emotionally. Are you more relaxed? Less stressed? Less anxious? Tired? Overwhelmed?

Take a minute to reflect on what it was like before the trauma before moving on to step 2, which is identifying what specific emotions are present during this time period.

Exhale anxiety.

  • Exhale anxiety.

Breath is very powerful when it comes to calming the mind and body. If you’re feeling anxious, try taking long, deep breaths that fill your lungs completely. As you inhale, imagine all of the stress being pulled from your body with each breath. Imagine peace filling your lungs like oxygen until they are filled with peace and joy instead of anxiety or stress.*

Take in serenity.

Take in serenity. Take in calmness. Take in peace. Take in relaxation.

Take it all in and breathe deeply, inhaling this peace that you feel and exhaling all the pain and hurt that has been consuming you for so long as you have struggled to make sense of your life without him by your side.

Release pressure.

In order to feel emotionally healed, it is important to release pressure. Pressure can come in many forms: stress, pain and anxiety are all types of pressure that can build up inside of you over time. If you find yourself feeling this way, try taking deep breaths with slow exhales. This helps release the tension in your body and mind so that you can move on from whatever was causing the stress/pain/anxiety in the first place. If possible, try letting go of these things once and for all; otherwise at least try not to hold onto them for too long!

Fill with calmness.

Calmness is a state of mind, a feeling of inner peace. Calmness is the opposite of anxiety, worry and stress. Calmness can be achieved through meditation or breathing exercises.

Emit any tension or heaviness you’re carrying.

Emit any tension or heaviness you’re carrying.

As you feel the weight of this situation, release it. Let go of any feelings of stress and anxiety you might be holding onto. Feel the heaviness sink into the ground as you breathe out through your mouth. Let go of any pressure that has been weighing on your shoulders. As you exhale out through your mouth, visualize all of this releasing from every cell in your body, down through your arms and legs, and into the earth below where it can be transformed into good energy to cultivate positive thoughts and actions in others’ lives.
