Prayer For Canonization Of Father Mcgivney

Prayer For Canonization Of Father Mcgivney

Almighty and everlasting God, strengthen your faithful servants through the intercession of Venerable Michael McGivney.

Strengthen them to love you above all things, to trust in you with all their hearts and minds, and to serve you with joyfulness.

By his prayers may they be strengthened in faith that they may overcome the world by the might of your Holy Spirit; through Christ our Lord.

You chose him to be an apostle among his people and a model of pastoral zeal and fatherly concern for the poor and marginalized.

That you chose him to be an apostle among his people and a model of pastoral zeal and fatherly concern for the poor and marginalized. That in the years since his death, you have allowed others to discover in him the signs of your sanctifying grace. And now that we are near his canonization, we ask that you continue to help us know more fully your servant priest who served your Church so well. In these days leading up to Father McGivney’s beatification, we pray for all those who are called by God into ministry as priests—that they may always hear your call as Father McGivney did; that they may understand this call as an opportunity for self-giving love; and that they may respond wholeheartedly with obedience and sacrifice.

Father McGivney’s love for Christ was evidenced not only by his preaching but also by his care for souls, both on earth and in purgatory through prayerful intercession before Our Lady’s altar at St Mary’s Church in Farmington Connecticut where he served as pastor from 1878 until his death at age forty-one on November 9th 1885 due to pneumonia contracted while visiting parishioners who were ill during an epidemic spreading throughout Connecticut at that time

If it is your holy will, glorify him by granting the favor I now request through his intercession (here make your request).

  • If it is your holy will, glorify him by granting the favor I now request through his intercession (here make your request).
  • Through the merits of his prayers, may all my intentions, both spiritual and temporal, be granted. Amen.

Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

This prayer is a way to communicate with God. It is also a way to thank Him for his blessings and ask forgiveness for our sins. When we pray, it gives us the opportunity to open up to God and share what is on our hearts.

The Lord hears your prayers, no matter how big or small they are. When you pray, you can be sure that He will listen and answer your prayers if it is His will so do so!

Father McGivney, pray for us.

Dear Father McGivney,

Pray for us. Pray for our intentions. Pray for our families, friends and community. Pray that we may become better people and lead others to do the same. The world has become a darker place since your passing; please pray that God’s light will shine through us in this time of darkness so we might bring hope to all who need it most.

Pray especially for those whose lives have been shattered by war or natural disaster; pray for those struggling with addiction or abuse; pray for those who are sick or hungry; pray for victims of violence against women and children—and their families—and those who would persecute them; pray that all people around the globe come together as one family under God’s love.
