Prayer For Breaking Generational Curses

Prayer For Breaking Generational Curses

We confess our sins and we repent of them. We come before you in the name of Jesus Christ and ask for your forgiveness and deliverance from any curses that have been placed upon us or our ancestors. In Jesus’ name, amen!

Prayer For Breaking Generational Curses

As you pray, ask the Lord to forgive you for any sins you have committed. This includes sins against Him and other people, as well as sins that your ancestors may have committed (i.e., generational curses).

Then ask Him to deliver you from the effects of those sins—the curses they caused. For example:

  • If a parent had an affair with another person who is not their spouse and gave birth to a child out of wedlock, there could be a financial curse on that family because of this sin or sin by one or both parents. The financial issues could include bankruptcy, debt or lack of resources needed for daily living. If a father didn’t provide financially when he should have in order to support his family but instead lived lavishly on money he didn’t earn through legal means (which could also include gambling or other illegal activities), this can also cause financial problems for his children and grandchildren down the road.*
  • If someone was born into an alcoholic home where everyone drank excessively—and this included children who were encouraged by their parents’ behavior—they may struggle with addiction themselves later in life. They might drink excessively themselves; become addicted to drugs; develop depression; struggle financially due to lackadaisical spending habits caused by feeling entitled since they never had experiences growing up where they learned how important it was work hard if one wanted something expensive like toys/clothes/etc.; chose bad friends because they felt more comfortable around people who drink heavily than those who don’t like being around alcoholics

Heavenly Father, we come to you in the name of Jesus, acknowledging our sins and the sins of our ancestors.

Heavenly Father, we come to you in the name of Jesus, acknowledging our sins and the sins of our ancestors. We ask for your forgiveness and healing.

We ask that you forgive us for any sin we have committed against you or others, as well as all sins committed by those who came before us—our parents, grandparents, great-grandparents and beyond.

Please heal our hearts from any bitterness or hatred toward anyone else because of their actions or attitudes toward us; remove from our minds all ungodly thoughts regarding them; take away any bitterness toward them on account of what they have done to us or how they have treated us in the past. Please heal anything within us that causes us to hold grudges against others who may have hurt us at some point in life or continue hurting us today with words or actions that are contrary to Christ’s teachings. Heal all places within me where there is unforgiveness so that I can live without anger toward others and without regretting my past mistakes.”

We know that sin separates us from you, but we have sinned against you and others through pride, rebellion, greed and lack of faith.

We know that sin separates us from you, but we have sinned against you and others through pride, rebellion, greed and lack of faith. For this reason we repent of these sins and ask for forgiveness. We are willing to make amends where necessary.

We repent of all this and ask that you would forgive and deliver us from the curse through Jesus Christ.

We repent of all this and ask that you would forgive and deliver us from the curse through Jesus Christ. We know that only by your grace do we have the hope of salvation through his blood, so please forgive us, Lord. Help us to break free from the lies and false teachings around us.

Deliver us from all curses caused by our sin or by the sins of our ancestors . . . . . . . . . .

Deliver us from all curses caused by our sin or by the sins of our ancestors. The Lord Jesus Christ is Lord, and He is able to protect us from every evil effort that comes against us or those we love.

Deliverance Prayer

Deliver me, O LORD! Deliver me from every evil way; save me in your righteousness! And I will thank you in the great assembly, before all who have come together with their leaders. But I will offer sacrifices to you with songs of praise on an instrument of ten strings and a lute, praising you with voice and all my heart when I learn your righteous ways (Psalm 9:14-15).

Deliver us from any curses over our finances caused by our sin or by the sins of our ancestors.

You may have heard the story of King David, who was anointed as a young boy to be king of Israel. His father was King Saul and his mother was Ahinoam (1 Samuel 16:18). But God had promised that David would be king in place of Saul because of what he had done wrong against God (2 Samuel 2:5-7). That meant Saul had to lose his throne because he didn’t obey God. In fact, he went from being anointed as king to being rejected by God and not allowed to be on the throne anymore because he broke His law (1 Samuel 13:13-14).

That’s how curses work: they’re given when someone does something wrong against God or another person and then suffers consequences for their actions until someone else changes things for them through repentance or forgiveness. It can also happen in reverse—someone might receive a blessing from doing something good for someone else but then later suffer from having done too much good by way of overdoing it! Either way though, it’s important that we understand how these things work so we know how best not only ourselves but also others around us can benefit from our efforts.”

Deliver us from any curses over our health caused by our sin or by the sins of our ancestors.

Ask God to deliver you from any curses over your health caused by your sin or by the sins of your ancestors.

Ask God to heal you from any inherited diseases.

Ask God to heal you from any inherited illness.

  • Pray that God would break off any curses over other areas in your life caused by sin or the sins of your ancestors.

In Jesus’ name I break off these curses and take authority over them according to Genesis 1:26-28; Matthew 12:28-29; 18:18; Mark 11:23; Philippians 2:9-11; Ephesians 1:19-23.

In Jesus’ name, I now bind up any evil spirits or demons that may have been associated with this curse and cause them to come out of me in Jesus’ name.

In Jesus’ name, I break loose from any bondages put on me as a result of this generational curse.

In the name of Jesus Christ, I now command all generational curses, bondages and evil spirits associated with this generation to be totally broken off my family line according to Galatians 3:13-14 (New International Version) which says “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”—so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles…

Break off any additional curses that need to be broken off.

As you pray, ask God to forgive you for any curses or other negative spiritual forces that have been placed on you. Ask that he would also release the curses that are in place in your family line, both past and present. This may not be easy to do; it requires a certain amount of humility and honesty as well as trust in God’s goodness, but it is possible to break off additional curses that need to be broken off.

Let yourself feel any emotions that come up while praying this prayer—including anger at those who have hurt us and fear of what might happen if we are being deceived by some evil force—and then let them go so they don’t hold us back from moving forward into the light!

Finally (and perhaps most importantly), ask God’s forgiveness for having put negative curses on others through our actions or words—and let those go too!

Conclusion

We also need to break off any additional curses that might still be affecting us. It’s hard not to be affected by generational curses because they run so deep, but with the power of God and the Holy Spirit we can overcome them.
