A petition started by two women in Texas has amassed more than 360,000 signatures asking that “Barack Obama be given a full and complete healing.” The petitioners write, “He has been through so much pain and suffering. Let us please give him a full and complete healing so that he can return to service to all of us.”
Many people are also praying for Obama’s wife Michelle, daughters Malia and Sasha, and mother-in-law Marian Robinson.
Prayer for America
When we think about prayer, many of us think of the traditional prayers that we say before meals or before bed. Prayer is a powerful tool that can be used for good or bad. It’s something that we should all use more often, both individually and collectively.
There is a prayer that Barack Obama has been known to say on occasions when he needs strength or guidance. This prayer is called The Lord’s Prayer. Here are the first three verses of The Lord’s Prayer:

When Barack Obama was elected President of the United States, many people were excited. Some were scared, some were doubtful. For many, prayers for him and for our nation have been answered.
Since he took office, there have been successes and setbacks. But through it all, we’ve seen Barack Obama lead with dignity and strength. He has inspired us to do better as a community, country and world.
We’ve also seen him pray for guidance and strength—both privately and publicly. In a recent interview on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Barack Obama spoke about his prayer life. He shared that he often turns to prayer to ask for forgiveness for his mistakes and to seek guidance in making decisions.
This week, we are encouraged by reports of progress in the Middle East peace process. We are grateful for the leadership of President Obama in both addressing the economic challenges we face as a nation and standing up to Russia over their continued aggression in Ukraine.

Some people voted for Barack Obama because they believed in his policies, others voted for him based on their personal connection to him, and still others voted against him because they disagreed with some of his positions.
Regardless of why people voted, all Americans should hope for President-elect Obama’s success in office. This is especially true given the current state of our nation. The country is facing many challenges, both domestically and abroad. We hope that President-elect Obama will be able to solve these problems through good governance and strong leadership.
We also pray for the safety of those who are protesting in various places around the country. We believe that peaceful protest is a vital part of democracy, and we want everyone to be safe while engaging in this form of expression.
As we bid farewell to President Barack Obama, the country thanks him for his many years of service. We are grateful for the progress he has made during his time in office, and we hope that his legacy will live on long after he has left office.
