Invocation Prayer For Programme
This prayer can be used for any event, but it is particularly good for starting off a programme.
Opening Prayer
- Opening Prayer
- Closing Prayer
This is the part of the programme where you will start speaking in a loud and clear voice. The opening prayer is a way to express our gratitude to God, ask for help and express our love for others. It is also an opportunity for people who are not familiar with prayer to learn how to do it properly or just come along with their friends and family members who want them there! You can use this time as an opportunity for everyone present at the meeting place (church hall), participate by offering prayers together or individually pray quietly in their own minds/hearts depending on their preference.
Let us pray.
The prayer begins with a general opening and then a petition. In the petition, we ask God to bless our programme by his presence. We use the metaphor of God’s ‘hand’ as a way of expressing what kind of blessing we want from him. Then we ask for specific things that he can do for us, such as protection, guidance and wisdom in all our decisions made during this programme. We end our prayer with an expression of gratitude for all that God has done for us already, asking him to help us continue to do what is good and right according to his will in the future too!
Loving and kind God,
Loving and kind God,
You are the ultimate source of all love. You are the source of all kindness and goodness. You are the source of beauty, truth and justice. As you are our Creator, we pray to you for loving guidance in our life so that we may be able to fulfill your will on earth by doing good to others in accordance with our faith tradition as well as in conformity with your commandments.
Help us to remember that our world
- God created the world and you, and He loves you.
- God is good.
- God is kind to those who love Him and do what He says, which is why we pray so much!
is beautiful because of your handiwork;
Good morning, God. I thank You for the beauty of this day and for the opportunity to pray with You. We are blessed by Your loving handiwork in all that we see around us today. It is beautiful because of Your handiwork; it would not be so without You. In the Garden of Eden, where Adam and Eve lived before they sinned against You and were banished from paradise, there was so much beauty: flowers bloomed on trees; animals lived in harmony together; the sun shone brightly above them each day; and everything glittered like gold (Genesis 2). The world was perfect then because it reflected Your perfection—we know this because after Adam committed sin he said to God: “I heard Your voice in the garden saying: ‘You must not eat from any tree of the garden,'” which means that even though there were many trees in the garden where God told him not to eat from them all but one (the tree of knowledge), he knew which one had been forbidden by Him alone (Genesis 3).
Help us to remember that we are all brothers and sisters,
We are all brothers and sisters, created in the image of God. In the sight of God, we are all equal. Let us remember these truths as we enter into this programme.
formed in your image, each unique and loved.
- When you pray, ask God to help you see yourself as he does.
- Pray for the strength to accept your body and all that it has been through.
- Pray for patience, insight, and love towards yourself and others in your life who may not accept your body as it is now or in the future.
Help us to look around and realize that this room is full of people
The room is full of people!
People who have come to celebrate you, God, Jesus and the entire world.
who have come to celebrate you.
The speaker, who has been asked to speak on behalf of the group, thanks them for their presence and asks them to join in the praise and prayer. He or she might also want to say something like “I am honored that you are here with me today,” or “We’re glad you’re able to celebrate together.”
The speaker should then list out all the people present, including him/herself and anyone else who is leading worship (such as musicians). The speakers may want to mention why each person came: “We are here because of our love for God,” or “You have come because you know that it is time to begin this new year.” They might also want to name what each person feels in his/her heart: “You feel excited about starting a new job,” or “You feel joyous that your child has begun learning how t ride a bike.” Finally, they may also mention how they feel toward each other: “I am grateful that I get along so well with my sister; she’s helped me through so many hard times.” Or think about your relationship with God: What does He mean when He says ‘I love you’?
Remind us always to use our words and actions as a force for good.
We are reminded that we should use our words and actions as a force for good. Good words and actions can help us to be more like God, more like Jesus, and more like the people we want to be like.
In Jesus name we pray. Amen!
The world has been waiting for a long time for the return of Jesus Christ. He is the most important person in the world and he will come again to save us from sin and death. In Hebrew, his name means “God saves.” He is God’s only son, born on earth as a human being (Luke 1). Through His life and teachings He showed us how we should live so that we can be forgiven of our sins and receive eternal life with Him in heaven. This can happen only through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ—not through any other religion or spiritual path!
This opening prayer can be used for any event
This opening prayer can be used for any event, not just prayer meetings. It is not specific to any one religion, but rather universal in its appeal and application. It can be used in a variety of settings—in church services, at retreats, during meetings and conferences—and in a variety of languages.
If you are looking for an opening prayer that is short and sweet, then this is the one for you. You can use it at any event that you want to start off with a proper invocation. This prayer starts out by telling everyone who will be there about God’s handiwork and love for all of us. It then goes on to say how we should treat each other with love and kindness in our daily lives as well as remembering that each person around us has their own unique story.”
