Holy Spirit Cleansing Prayer
Lord, I come before You and ask that You cleanse me from all unrighteousness. Cleanse me of all the hurt and pain of my past. Cleanse me from any unforgiveness that I’m holding onto towards anyone from my past. I forgive everyone who has hurt me in any way. I bless those who have cursed or mistreated me. I release them into Your hands. Cleanse my thoughts, feelings, desires and motives so that they are holy and acceptable in Your sight.
God, I ask you to cleanse me from all unrighteousness.
Father, I ask you to cleanse me from all unrighteousness.
Unrighteousness is anything that is not in line with your will. You want us to be holy, righteous, pure and set apart from the world. Help me today to remember that my relationship with God must be placed first in my life if I am going to be set free from sin and live an abundant life here on earth and for eternity.
Cleanse me of all the hurt and pain of my past.
Now we come to a prayer of forgiveness.
- Cleanse me of all the hurt and pain of my past.
- Cleanse me of all the anger, resentment and bitterness from my past.
- Cleanse me of any sins I have committed in my past that are holding me back from being a better person today.
Cleanse me from any unforgiveness that I’m holding onto towards anyone from my past.
Forgiveness is a choice, not an emotion. It’s not forgetting, it’s letting go of the past. Forgiveness is not reconciliation; it’s letting go of the past. The first step in this process is to ask God to cleanse you from any unforgiveness that you’re holding onto towards anyone from your past – family members, friends, teachers and pastors etc., who may have hurt or offended you in some way at some time or another during your life on earth.
I forgive everyone who has hurt me in any way.
Forgiveness is a choice you make. It does not mean forgetting, reconciliation or condoning the offense. Forgiveness does not excuse the offense; it simply means that you are choosing to release your emotional reaction to it and let go of any desire for revenge or retaliation. It also does not mean forgetting what happened – that’s impossible! Nor does forgiveness mean becoming best friends with someone who has hurt you in some way; if this person wants to remain friends, then so be it, but if they choose not to have any relationship with you at all (and why would they?), then that’s okay too because through forgiveness comes freedom from all past hurts and offenses, even those which may seem unforgivable by others looking in from outside our personal experience of them!
I bless those who have cursed or mistreated me.
The scripture says that God is the ultimate judge and will bring justice to all those who have mistreated us, whether on purpose or not. God has a plan for each of us, and His plans are good plans. We should trust that no matter how bad our circumstances may seem, there is still a purpose for them.
I bless those who curse or mistreat me; I pray that you would give them peace and comfort in their souls. If they don’t know any better than to treat me badly because of their own lack of understanding of your love or grace—please forgive them and help them find their way back home so they can learn from your wisdom instead of following their own ignorance!
I commit myself today to praying for those who curse me out loud in front of others (or even behind my back).
I release them into Your hands.
Now you can affirm:
I release them into Your hands. God, I know that You love them and care for them. I trust that You will take care of them and keep them safe. I am so thankful they have been reconciled to You through the death of Your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Through their healing and deliverance from demonic bondage, they are now free to experience life in You!
In my own world, as a result of this prayer for healing and deliverance, I believe there has been an increase in repentance from sin (as well as deliverance from evil spirits). The lives of those who have repented are changing dramatically because of their faith in Jesus Christ’s blood sacrifice on the cross—the only way we can be forgiven when we sin against God!
Cleanse my thoughts, feelings, desires and motives so that they are holy and acceptable in Your sight.
Father, please cleanse my thoughts, feelings, desires and motives so that they are holy and acceptable in Your sight.
Lord Jesus, take away from me all evil desires that would keep You from being lifted up within me. Let them be replaced with good thoughts and holy motives that are pleasing to You.
Holy Spirit, please empower me to follow after righteousness for Jesus’ sake! In Your name I pray!
