Death Anniversary Prayer For My Father

Death Anniversary Prayer For My Father

Dear Father,

I am writing to you for the first time since I lost you. It’s been more than a year since that day. I still miss you so much. I miss your hugs and how much fun it was when we would go out to eat together. You always used to take me places, like when we went fishing together or when we went to baseball games together because of your love of baseball as a sport and because of my love of playing sports too (although now that I’m older, I don’t play as many). You were such an inspiration in my life because of everything that you taught me about being a good person, treating others kindly and helping people whenever possible. You were an excellent role model for me; one who made sure that my sister and brother knew how special they were by showing them through actions rather than words alone–or at least mostly actions over words! But most importantly…

Today we gather together to mark a very particular occasion. It is the anniversary of your death.

Today we gather together to mark a very particular occasion. It is the anniversary of your death. We do this in remembrance, mourning, celebration and sadness. Last year I wrote about my father’s death anniversary and I’m going to try not to repeat myself too much because much has happened since then. But there are some things that have stayed the same; like my love for him and how his memory lives on through me every day.

In thinking about how I can celebrate his life during this time, I decided that one thing that would make him smile was if we had a party with family and friends—a banquet where everyone gathered around a table with food he loved! My sister-in-law told us it would be best if she made all of the food so she could “make sure everything was right” (I think it helped her feel closer). We asked our brother who also lives far away if he could help coordinate getting everyone together at once or just visiting over several days during the week leading up to his passing anniversary so maybe they could talk about their memories of dad while eating together?

We planned everything from start to finish: invitations; decorations; music selection (you’ll hear later); menu planning; guest list management etc… I wanted everything perfect for him so we could all remember him as best as possible without any distractions from ourselves or others around us.”

You may have passed away, but we are so grateful that you are still with us in spirit.

We are grateful for the memories you gave us, and we will always cherish them. You may have passed away, but your memory will live on in our hearts forever.

You are still with us in spirit and will always be part of our lives.

We cry because you are no longer with us, but we also smile at all of the wonderful memories you gave to us while you were here.

Dear Father,

We miss you. It has been five years since your passing and still, the pain of losing you is as fresh as ever. We are grateful for all that you have done for us over the years, from teaching us valuable life lessons to giving us the gift of your love and support. Though we are sad at not having a father in our lives anymore, we also smile at all of the wonderful memories you gave to us while you were here with us on Earth. Your love will always be with us no matter where we go or what happens in our lives, whether it be good or bad; because this is how deeply rooted your love was within all those who knew and loved you just as much as they did God Himself!

It is ok to be sad and to miss you more than usual on this day, but it is important that we also think about all the good things you did for us.

It is ok to be sad and to miss you more than usual on this day, but it is important that we also think about all the good things you did for us. We should remember the funny stories that made us laugh, like how you couldn’t get out of bed in the morning without your coffee or how you used to sing while taking a shower. We should remember how great it felt when we were able to help out with something around the house because you were too busy at work, or when we got high grades on our tests because of your encouragement.

We should also remember all of the times that things didn’t go so well: times when we got into trouble at school or had problems with friends; times when someone hurt us and it was too hard for us to tell anyone until finally telling a teacher who helped us feel better. Your imperfections are what makes who you were unique; thinking about any negative parts of yourself doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with them—it just means there’s room for improvement!

It is alright to mourn, but it is also okay to celebrate your life and everything that made you such a special person.

Death is a natural part of life, and it doesn’t have to be something you feel bad about. It’s okay for you to grieve, but don’t forget that your loved one did live an entire life and was a special person in their own way.

It’s important to remember that we should celebrate the good things about your loved one, like:

  • what they accomplished in their life
  • all the wonderful memories you have of them

We know that you will always be with us as long as we remember who you were, what you did for us, and how much we loved you.

We know that you will always be with us as long as we remember who you were, what you did for us, and how much we loved you.

You were a great father and husband; your love for your family was evident in everything that you did. You worked hard to provide for us, but never forgot to let us know just how proud of us you were. You had an infectious sense of humor, which often made all of our cares disappear when they got too heavy. We hope that we are able to make others laugh as much as you have done throughout the years—we know that you would be proud if we could do just that!

We love and miss you forever. Amen.

Here is a sample prayer that you can use to create your own memorial service.

We pray for the person who has died:

  • We pray for the family and loved ones who are still alive.
  • We pray for ourselves, our families, friends and those we don’t know well or at all.
  • We thank God for bringing this person into our lives in some way or another.
  • we hope that this prayer for my father will help you remember the good times and the bad ones. We know that he would want us to focus on all of the wonderful memories that we shared together as a family and not just focus on how sad it is to lose him now because he was such an important part of our lives. We miss him so much, but we know that he is in a better place where everything will be okay again someday soon when God calls him home once more.
