Daily Prayer For My Child
When I was a child, my mother used to pray for me every night. I didn’t know it then, but she was asking the Lord to protect me and keep me safe throughout the day. I also remember her praying that God would give me a good heart and that He would fill my life with love. As I’ve grown into an adult, it has become clear that those prayers have been answered in ways that even my mom could not have imagined.
A Prayer for Your Child’s Future
- Pray that your child will have a long life.
2 Pray that your child will be healthy.
3 Pray that your child will have a successful career.
4 Pray that your child will have a happy marriage and family, including many children if God so chooses to give them those blessings!
A Prayer for Your Child’s Protection
Father, in Jesus’ name I pray that you would protect my child from the evil one and all that he does. Protect him from his schemes, his attacks, and all that would cause harm to him.
In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
A Prayer for Your Child’s Heart
Dear Father,
I ask you to bless my child’s heart. This precious gift is at the center of his/her being. It is the core of his/her soul, and it should be used to pursue only Your will. The heart is where we feel emotions and make decisions—it is the seat of our will and intellect. My child will use his/her heart in many ways during life, so I pray that You give him/her wisdom when making decisions as well as strength when faced with difficulties or trials. Please help my child place priorities in order so he/she may use all four aspects of this magnificent organ appropriately: mind (understanding), emotion (feeling), will (choosing), body (doing).
A Prayer for Your Child’s Love
I pray that you will love your child unconditionally, even when they don’t love you. I pray that you will love your child even if they don’t love themselves. I pray that you will not stop loving them even when they are not lovable and unlovable.
I pray for your continued patience with all of their flaws, shortcomings, errors in judgment, and mistakes made in life. Be understanding when someone does not treat them as kindly as they should be treated; forgive those who trespass against them; give grace to those who do wrong by them; and wait patiently until the time is right to show mercy on those who have hurt or wronged your child without provocation or justification whatsoever!
I pray that You would teach me how to be a better parent because according to Your Word there is no greater gift than sharing our lives with others…
A Prayer for Your Child to Abide in God
A Prayer for Your Child to Abide in God
God’s Word is our lamp, a light to our path. It shows us the way, so we do not stumble and fall. When we walk in the darkness, God’s Word gives us sight.
With His Word as our mirror, we can see ourselves as He sees us: not as an enemy or an adversary but as one who needs to be set free from those things which hold him back from being all that he was designed to be. We are able to see how we are drawn away from Him by temptations and distractions of this world; how sin has blinded us; how pride keeps us from seeking Him; how fear keeps us from trusting Him fully; how worry prevents faith from growing strong within our hearts . . . .
His Word cuts away all that is evil in our lives: sin (which includes lusting after others), doubt (which hinders faith), fear (which paralyzes obedience). And when there is no more leaven left behind after mixing with water during Passover week each year—no more yeast dough left over—then it becomes time once again for another batch of bread made with fresh leavened flour instead!
A Prayer for Your Child to Pray Scripture
- The Lord’s Prayer, in Matthew 6:9-13
- The 23rd Psalm, which you can find here: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm+23&version=NIV
- Pray the Lord’s Prayer with your child and then have them pray it on their own. Then read the 23rd Psalm together and talk about what it means to both of you (or just read it over silently). Pray for your children, asking God for His protection, guidance, and care.
The Lord will always be with you and your child.
God will be with you and your child, no matter what. He will not leave you or forsake you (Deut 31:6). He is always with us, even when we are not aware of it. When times are good, God is there; when they are bad, he still watches over us and cares for us. He loves all people equally regardless of their circumstances or actions. We can rest assured that God will always listen to our prayers and help guide our children in the right direction—even if we don’t understand why sometimes things happen as they do.
The Lord will always be with you and your child. His promises are true, and He is faithful to keep them for all who love Him.
