Catholic Prayer For Our Country

Introduction

Earlier this month, President Donald Trump signed into law a bill that allows states to withhold Title X family planning funds from Planned Parenthood. This is significant because Title X is the only federal program that provides direct funding to reproductive health clinics, including Planned Parenthood. Title X provides preventive health care and contraception for millions of people, including millions of low-income Americans. This means that Catholic hospitals and other clinics that rely on Title X funding will now have to decide whether they will continue providing these services to patients. This move by the Trump administration has left many Catholics feeling marginalized and even attacked. In response, we are offering the following Catholic prayer for our country. God, we come to you in humble petition for your guidance in these dangerous and difficult times. We ask for your protection of all those who depend on government programs like Title X–especially women and minorities who have been most vulnerable in recent years. Help us protect them now and always. Amen

Prayer for Our Country

It is natural to look to the government to solve our problems and make our lives better. But as Catholics, we know that there is a higher power who can help us in our time of need. Prayer is one way we can seek guidance from God and ask for His help on behalf of our country.

When we pray, We connect with Our Heavenly Father in a very personal way. He listens and responds to our prayers according to His will. Through prayer, we learn how to trust and obey Him even when things seem impossible.

Here are some specific prayers you might want use for your country:
-For peace: “Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.”
-For wisdom: “O Lord God, Who created the heavens and the earth, Who by Thy counsel laid the foundations of the earth, And spread abroad the sea with Thy mighty hand; Let all nations be obedient unto Thee.”
-For strength: “O God Most High, who art exalted above all gods and all powers: Give ear unto me, and save my people from their sins.”

Prayer for Our Nation

In this blog post, we will be looking at Catholic prayer for our nation. It is no secret that Catholics have a strong devotion to their country and the many people in it. In fact, the Catechism of the Catholic Church states: “The patriotism of the Christian is not simply a sentimentality or ritualism but rather a dispositions from which flow life-giving love of country, concern for its future and dedication to its defense.” This patriotism stems from the belief that through Jesus Christ, all people are brothers and sisters in God.

Pope Francis has encouraged Christians to pray for their nations, calling on believers to unite in “a common act of intercession” (Laudato Si’ 198). In his Encyclical Letter Laudato Si’, Pope Francis wrote, “It is precisely because man is endowed with reason and conscience that he needs to be concerned about what he produces…. For example, every form of degradation of nature—such as chemical pollution and climate change—threatens human life on earth and gravely wounds the dignity of men and women” (emphasis added). Prayer can help us see problems before they become larger problems, get involved in solving them, and show solidarity with those who are suffering.

One way to do this is by asking for God’s help during times of national crisis. When we find ourselves feeling overwhelmed or out of control during these difficult times, prayer can give us hope. Pope Francis writes: “When an era finds itself

Prayer for Our World

Prayer may be the weakest link in our Catholic faith, but that doesn’t mean we can’t use it to pray for our nation. Following are five prayer requests for our country:

1. Lord, grant America wisdom in the face of danger. Protect her citizens and her leaders as they lead us into difficult times. Give them the strength to make sound decisions in difficult times.

2. Father, we come before you asking for your guidance during this election season and beyond. May your light guide us in choosing who will lead us as a Nation. Grant America the peace that comes from knowing you are with us always.

3. God of mercy, hear our prayers for those who have lost their homes and loved ones in recent natural disasters like Hurricane Sandy and Typhoon Haiyan. please heal their hearts and minds, and give them the comfort to rebuild their lives with dignity intact.

4. Jesus Christ, Son of God, we come before you asking for your help in healing our country’s divisions. Bring people together from all walks of life so that we may work towards building a society founded on justice, love, and compassion for all people
