Norse Prayer For Healing
As a Norse heathen, I have been taught the importance of prayer and divination. But what about healing? I’ve often seen people who pray for healing at rituals and am always curious about what exactly they are doing. The prayers that follow are not meant to replace medical treatment or take away from it; rather, these prayers are meant to supplement modern medicine with spiritual support.
O great goddess Frigga, mother of the gods and goddesses, you are the bride of Woden
Frigga is the wife of Odin and mother to Baldur, Vili, and Ve. She is the goddess of love, fertility, healing, the hearth and family. She is also known as Frigg or Fjorgyn who represents the sky. She has a close relationship with her son Baldur which means “Banner.”
She possesses many attributes that are similar to those attributed to Freyja.
You are the queen of Yggdrasil, the tree that holds up the universe
You are the queen of Yggdrasil, the tree that holds up the universe. Yggdrasil is the center of creation and all things flow through it. The mighty ash supports nine worlds—we live in one of them. It has three roots, one in heaven and two reaching down into Midgard below us. It’s a powerful symbol for stability and growth as well as change because it lives through seasons: summer when everything grows, fall when everything dies off for winter but comes back again in spring.
With your magic weaving, you hold our world together
The goddess Frigga is an important figure in Norse mythology, one who holds the world together with her magic. Her name literally translates to “love”, and she is said to weave her spells so that all things may be held together in love. If you are a practitioner of Norse spiritual practice, this prayer will help you connect with Frigga’s presence in your life while asking for healing or other blessings from this powerful deity.
When there is a weakness in the web of life, you repair it
When there is a weakness in the web of life, you repair it. You are Frigga, Goddess of Healing and Queen of Asgard.
You are the patron goddess of women and childbirth—the mother of Balder and Hod, Thor’s first wife Sif, and many other goddesses as well as humans.
You are also known as Frigg or Frija to the Germans; Frea to Anglo-Saxons; Freyja to Scandinavians.
When there is sickness in a body, you restore it to health
When there is sickness in a body, you restore it to health.
But true healing goes beyond physical ailments and encompasses the mind, body and spirit. You give us the strength to overcome our suffering. You are our healer when we are ill; help us see that your grace can heal not only our bodies but also our minds and souls. Let us recognize that no matter how weak we feel, we have within ourselves the power to overcome all hardships if we turn to you for help and guidance!
I turn to you, O great goddess Frigga, in my time of need
- I turn to you, O great goddess Frigga, in my time of need.
- I am a child of the Earth and Sky, but it is up to you who gives me strength.
- As I pray for healing, may the weight of this burden be lifted from me.
- May my spirit feel at peace once again and may all negative energy be cleansed from my mind and body.
Heal me or my loved one from this injury or illness
- The mind is powerful.
- Positive thinking can help you heal faster and better than just waiting around for your body to heal itself, or for a doctor to cure you of your illness or injury.
- Prayer is a powerful tool that helps focus the mind on healing, but it’s only as powerful as the person who prays and believes in it being effective!
- If a person has faith in something, such as prayer helping them heal from an illness or injury, then they will believe that prayer is working even if nothing happens at first and this belief will push them forward toward recovery instead of giving up hope like someone who does not think prayers work would do after several days without improvement (or worse—a worsening condition).
Grant us strength during these difficult times so we may return to a state of health and happiness again
Prayer is not a magic spell. It is not a way to control the world, or even your own life. Prayer is a way to focus your intentions, connect with the divine and ask for help. When you pray, you can be sure that you will receive an answer—not necessarily in the way that you expect (or want), but an answer nonetheless.
Prayer can be used as a tool to give thanks for all of the good things in our lives, including health and happiness. If there are issues we wish to change or resolve, prayer can also be used as part of this process by asking for strength during these difficult times so we may return to a state of health and happiness again.
Healing is not only about the body. It includes the spirit.
Healing is not only about the body. It includes the spirit.
The body is a vessel for the spirit. The spirit is the soul and the body is its temple, its vessel, its essence.
If you are facing a difficult time, there is nothing wrong with calling on the power of the goddess Frigga to heal you. She has been helping people for thousands of years with her magic weaving and healing powers. Whether it be an illness or injury; she will do whatever it takes to help restore balance back into your life again
