Prayer For Those In Authority

Father, I pray today for everyone in authority; from my neighbor to the President of this great land. For our President and all who are in positions of leadership in our country, I pray. For those who have influence in business and industry, I pray. For those who make things happen in the entertainment world, I pray. For those who lead families and homes, I pray. Father, I ask that you bless them with Your favor and blessings so that they will find what they need when they need it. Father, may they be blessed because they govern over me and my family in the name of Jesus Christ.” Amen

Father, I pray today for everyone in authority; from my neighbor to the President of this great land.

I pray that your will be done and not mine. I pray that you would hold us accountable for our actions as leaders, and give us wisdom to lead well. I ask that you would guide our steps as we serve those under our care. Lord, help me to be patient with them, even when they are impatient with me! Please protect those who serve others in authority and guide them into paths of righteousness and peace so they can represent you well while fulfilling their duties on Earth.

I pray that you will be able to make good decisions. I pray that you will be able to make the right choices. I pray that you will do what is best for this country and its citizens, even if it means that they have to sacrifice their own personal desires and comforts along the way.

I pray especially for your safety and protection as concerns arise around us on a daily basis now due to current world events or even just threats from people who wish harm upon others or themselves because of their beliefs or actions–or lack thereof–which may be perceived as being contrary or offensive towards those who disagree with them (and vice versa).

For those who have influence in business and industry, I pray.

I pray for those who have influence in business and industry.

• I pray that they will be successful, and that their success will be blessed by God.
• I also pray that they will be good stewards of the resources they have been entrusted with, using them to bless others around them.

For those who make things happen in the entertainment world, I pray.

• For those who act, sing, dance and perform: may the arts be a path for you to express your gifts to God.
• For producers and directors of films and plays, may your work be pleasing to God even if it means that what you produce is not exactly what the crowd wants to see or hear. Produce it anyway!
• For writers of books, music or other forms of artistic expression: may you always write only what is true because without truth there is no beauty worth sharing with others who want to grow closer to God through their own experiences with Jesus Christ.

For those who lead families and homes, I pray.

• For those who lead churches, I pray.
• For those who lead communities and organizations, I pray.
• For those who lead businesses and corporations, I pray.
• For the leaders of government at every level—local, state/provincial/territorial, national and international—I pray.

Father, I pray that You will give wisdom and guidance to every decision that each one makes that affects me and my family.

Lord, help us to not allow ourselves to be deceived by those who would lead us away from the truth. Help us to stay focused on Your Word and walk in Your ways. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.”

Father, I ask that you bless them with Your favor and blessings so that they will find what they need when they need it.

I pray that each decision they make is done in Your wisdom and with Your grace, allowing them to do what needs to be done in their respective areas of responsibility. Let their decisions always be for the good of others; let them never be made out of vengeance or selfishness.

Lord, grant me wisdom, patience and understanding so I will know how best to serve You with those who have authority over me. Thank You for giving us leaders who have been ordained by You for such a time as this!

Father God, we pray for those in authority over us at all levels: the President and all who are in positions of leadership in our country; those who have influence in business and industry; those who make things happen in the entertainment world—and all others who exercise power and authority over us. We ask You to help them to see clearly how their policies affect our children, our families, and our churches—and that these policies are also good for society as a whole. We pray that they will always choose what is right rather than doing whatever it takes to win an election or get ahead personally (Romans 13:1-2). Help them to remember that there is no governing without giving an account (Hebrews 13:17). We ask this through Christ our Lord..
