Nighttime Prayer For Child
Section: Dear Lord,
Dear Lord,
Please help my child sleep soundly tonight. Please watch over him and keep him safe from harm. Please protect his body from illness, and free his mind of worry. Help me to be a good example for him, so that he may grow up to be a fine young man who honors you with his life. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen
Section: I pray for my child as she goes to sleep tonight. As her mother, I ask that you cover her in your powerful hands.

God, thank you that you are here with us always. Thank you that you are a good listener who knows everything there is to know about us and our lives. You created the universe and earth, so we know that no matter how many times we may fall down or lose track of our way back home or forget how much we love each other right now, there is always someone who has our backs; someone who will never leave us alone; someone who only wants what’s best for us as humans on this planet; someone who made sure we were born at all—so grateful am I for such an amazing gift!
Section: Give her a good night’s sleep so she will be ready for the day tomorrow. Let her dreams be sweet and peaceful.
Dreams can be a source of inspiration, comfort, motivation, hope, guidance and healing. Allow your child to have sweet dreams tonight so they will be ready for the day tomorrow.
Section: My prayer is that you would touch her heart and mind with your Holy Spirit, dear Lord. Speak to her as she sleeps.
Prayer is an excellent way to communicate with God and show your child that you trust him. Children learn by example, so when you talk about prayer in front of them, it can help them see how serious you are about it. If a child sees her parent pray regularly and especially when she has a need or question, she will be more likely to do the same.
Prayer is also a great way for parents to teach their children how they should approach God himself. It’s important that children understand that although we may have questions or concerns about life events, we can still trust God and not worry as much because he has everything under control!
Lastly, prayer gives us an opportunity to be grateful for all of our blessings. By praying often (and especially before bed), we give ourselves time during the day to look back on all the things we have been given by God instead of just focusing on our problems throughout any given day!
Section: Instill your truth into her thinking and help her to choose right over wrong tomorrow.
As a parent, it is your responsibility to set the example for your child. Each night when you pray with her, instill your truth into her thinking and help her to choose right over wrong tomorrow. The following are some ideas on how to do this:
- Be a good role model: Your children will imitate what they see you doing more than anything else. So, if you want them to have good manners, then be sure yours are impeccable at all times!
- Teach responsibility: Make chores around the house fun by making them competitive (e.g., who can put away the silverware faster). Or assign each child their own chore that they must complete before going outside or watching television. This teaches independence—and builds character!
Section: Help me to be a good example of how to walk in faith each day, Lord. When I stumble or get off track, forgive me.

- Please help me to recognize and accept Your will for my life and for those around me, especially for the ones who are lost and need a Savior like You.
Section: Help my child to know that she is loved by you and by me. Thank you for this precious gift of life that I have been entrusted with.
Prayer is a powerful tool to help you cope with the difficulties of life. It is also an important tool in helping your child cope with his or her own difficulties.
- Prayer can help you cope with worry: When we pray, we are able to put our worries into God’s hands and allow him to take them from us. This frees us up from worrying about the things which we cannot control so that we can focus on the things that truly matter in life, like family and friends.
- Prayer can help you cope with fear: Fear comes from an unknown future or from past experiences that were traumatic or painful. Through prayer, God can give us peace in such situations so that even though there may be some uncertainty ahead of you, this does not have to keep you from living fully today!
- Prayer can help you cope with loneliness: If a person feels lonely all by themselves then imagine how much worse it must be for someone who feels isolated within their relationship(s). Prayer gives both partners hope during difficult times when they need support most!
Prayers can help you cope with hard times like being worried about your kids at night
Prayers are a way to communicate with God. They can help you feel more peaceful, calm, and serene when you’re worried about your children at night.
I pray that my prayers will be heard and answered. I am asking for your help, dear Lord, so that my daughter may have a good night’s sleep tonight and every night. Thank you for being there when we need you most!
