Prayer For My Enemies

If you frequent online forums and chatrooms, then you’ve probably come across someone who has very strong opinions about politics and religion. They might be a raging atheist or staunch supporter of Jesus Christ, but they’re also capable of having friendly conversations with people from the other side of the fence. That’s because when it comes to their personal beliefs, these individuals are able to put those differences on hold in order to have a genuine discussion.

What is prayer?

Prayer is an intimate communication with God. It is the act of communicating with Him through our thoughts and feelings, and it can be done any time of day or night. Prayer can be a way to connect with God on a personal level, or it can be used as a way to help others. Prayer can also be used to ask for guidance or help in times of need.

Why pray for my enemies?

When we pray for someone, we are expressing our feelings of love and concern. We want to help that person wherever possible, and we believe that God can do great things through them. Praying for our enemies helps us to see them as human beings who need help, not just opponents or adversaries.

Prayer for my enemies can also be a way of cleansing ourselves from any anger or hatred that we may feel towards them. By praying for them, we are admitting that they are sometimes just people, hurt and needing help. This can help us to be more compassionate towards them and less likely to react negatively when faced with them in the future.

“You shall not wrong a man in judgment, nor oppress him in weightlifting, because you are his neighbour; you shall fear your God.”
In Psalm 37:36-40 there is a psalm for when someone feels betrayed by an enemy
“Do not put your trust in princes, in whom there is no help. In whose eyes a deceitful tongue is a delight, and they love violence more than peace. Their covetousness makes them wander away; they make their feet like stumbling stools, to fall into the pit. They are driven by their lusts; they ruin me without knowing it.”

Psalm 55:17-19 speaks to the heart of prayer for enemies
“Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, and because of him who fails; worry about yourself in the days of trouble. For he will deliver you from those things to which you are about to be delivered.”
