Dr Seuss A Prayer For A Child
A Child,
If I were called to guard a child night and day,
My first most earnest prayer should be for light, pure light.
Light to show the right step from the wrong,
Light to show the safest path when right and wrong are twined.
Light to shine on work that waits and duty that would shirk!
Light on whatever way our feet must tread, —
Whate’er its darkness, or its danger, or its dread!
God give us light! Amen.
A Child
Remember that your child is a child, and as such they are likely to make mistakes. Some would say that it is your responsibility to keep them safe from harm or danger. But how can you do this? It’s easy! Just follow these simple steps:
- Keep all doors locked when you are at home with your child.
- Make sure your windows have locks on them, too.
- Don’t let anyone in unless they know the code or knock three times on the door (even if they say they’re lost!). And don’t open the door for strangers even if you know them very well!
- Make sure there isn’t any broken glass around; this could be dangerous if someone fell onto it while running around outside without shoes on their feet (or any other part of their body). If there are broken pieces out there still lying around after going through all those steps above then sweep them away before letting anyone else come inside!
If I were called to guard a child night and day,
I would do my best for you,
I would keep you safe from harm.
I would protect you from all that can be cruel,
And I’d show you love and peace of mind.
My first most earnest prayer should be for light, pure light.
Your first most earnest prayer should be for light, pure light.
Light is the symbol of knowledge, truth, and guidance. Light is a symbol of hope, goodness and courage. Light is a symbol of purity and truth; it is also a symbol of faith, hope and love—all virtues which will lead you to happiness and success in life.
Light to show the right step from the wrong,
Light to show the right step from the wrong,
Light to show the safest path when right and wrong are twined;
Light for you who face in youth a troubled time.
Light for those who want your dreams to come true!
Light to show the safest path when right and wrong are twined.
Light to show the safest path when right and wrong are twined.
Light to help your child see what needs to change, or stay the same, when growing up is such a pain.
Light to keep your child safe from harm that’s not from you because even parents make mistakes sometimes too!
And finally, let’s end with a prayer:
Dear God please give me enough light to guide my children’s steps in life so they can go out into the world with confidence and know that if anything should happen we will always be there for them no matter what time of day it may be because knowing that someone has our back gives us strength not only physically but also mentally which leads us back full circle back home again safe inside our own walls where we belong surrounded by love while being protected at all costs away from harm
Light to shine on work that waits and duty that would shirk!
In a prayer, you may be expected to ask for something. Here you are asked to make a request. That request is that God will give you the strength and courage to do your work well. It’s easy to shirk one’s duty, but only those who work hard will get the job done right and accomplish their goals (and then they’ll have time at home).
Here are some examples of what type of work might be waiting:
- You’re an employee working on a project with coworkers.
- You’re taking care of your family during dinner time.
- You’re helping another student in school or church class learn about something new because he/she doesn’t understand it yet like everyone else does!
Light on whatever way our feet must tread, —
Light on whatever way our feet must tread, —
Light where the way may lead us, —
Light of love to keep us warm,
Light of hope that never dies;
Light on the path we take at night.
Whate’er its darkness, or its danger, or its dread!
You can do anything you want, as long as it is not harmful to others.
The darkness of the world is not something that needs to be feared or avoided. It’s something that should be embraced and used for a greater purpose. The darkness holds many dangers for children who are unprepared for them, especially those who are naive and have no knowledge of their surroundings. However, there is nothing inherently bad about the darkness; it simply brings with it some potential dangers that must be recognized before they become real threats. This recognition allows us to avoid these dangers while also recognizing their potential benefits if properly harnessed and utilized correctly.
God give us light! Amen.
- God give us light! Amen.
- God show us the right path to take and keep us on it.
- God show us the wrong path to take so we can avoid it.
- God help us find our way safely home again after we have done good deeds or been bad ones, for in your eyes all are equal, but some are given more than others to do good works along their journey through life.*
that you are keep your child safe
- Keep your child safe.
- Keep your child safe from danger and harm.
I hope that this poem has helped you to understand the importance of keeping your child safe and happy.
